recycling at SORT boonah


Boonah SORT Recycling is our local community recycling hub. See our blogpost for more info. 

There are many varied items which can be taken to SORT to be reused or recycled. 

Drop in to SORT in the basement of the old church at 9 Church Street Boonah after 9am Monday to Thursday. Parking is available in the vacant lot accessed from Walter Street.


The following items are always welcome for community recycling initiatives: 

♦ IT equipment (working or not) including computers, monitors, keyboards, gaming consoles, mice, cables, printers, scanners etc
♦ sound and video media including VCRs, DVDs, stereos etc
♦ mobile phones and accessories for the Mobile Muster
♦ corks for the Girl Guides
♦ old plastic store and credit cards to fashion into guitar picks
♦ bras and swimmers for the Uplift Project
♦ household batteries for Aldi recycling
♦ aluminium cans for fundraising
♦ spectacles for the Lions Recycle for Sight Program
♦ cameras for Camera Recycle Australia
♦ printer cartridges for Cartridges 4 Planet Ark
♦ toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers for Terracycle
♦ beauty, cleaning and laundry triggers, pumps and taps for Terracycle
♦ sturdy fabric for bags, including tablecloths, curtains etc
♦ old tshirts and bed sheets for rug, bunting and bag making etc
♦ grain bags and hessian bags for bunting, bags and rugs
♦ pallets and crates for timberwork
♦ plant pots for the BOSS plant stall
♦ glass jars for jam makers
