World Environment Day Festival 2014

Boonah will be celebrating on Saturday June 7 at the Outlook, Boonah Ipswich Road, Boonah between 9am and 4pm.

In line with the UN General Assembly's decision to designate 2014 as the International Year of Small Island Developing States, this year's World Environment Day will spotlight Small Island Developing States - a diverse group of more than 50 low-lying coastal communities or territories - and their unique development challenges and successes.

So this year's theme is the Small Island Developing States and Climate Change. Due to their small size and isolation, these small island states are highly vulnerable to risks of natural and environmental disasters, climate change and sea-level rise.
See the United Nations website for more information.

We welcome participants to focus on this theme for food, workshops, entertainment, artisan stalls etc.

Please contact Julie via email to express your interest in participating.

Please remember our focus on the environment, and our desire for a plastic bag free event.
